The fine print
Legal & privacy

TypeBench is developed and published by Serhii Dedik. This page covers both the TypeBench macOS application and this website.
The app: no data collection
- TypeBench collects no data. No analytics, no crash reporting, no accounts, no identifiers.
- The app has no network access. It is a sandboxed macOS app whose sandbox carries no network entitlement, so nothing can be transmitted anywhere - your font list, folders and settings stay on your Mac.
- Your font files are never touched. The app ships with a read-only file entitlement: it indexes the folders you choose in place and cannot modify, move or delete a font file even by accident.
- The corresponding App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected", in every category.
This website
- The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts - it is static pages, and even the type specimens are rendered by fonts already on your machine.
- Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure keeps standard, short-lived server logs (IP address, requested page, browser user agent) for security and operations. They are not used for profiling and are not shared.
- If you email support, we use your message and address only to answer you.
License and purchases
TypeBench is distributed through the Mac App Store. Your use of the app is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The app is free to download; TypeBench Pro is a single one-time in-app purchase of $79.99 - not a subscription, with no renewal and no update fees. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple through your Apple ID.
Your fonts, your licenses
TypeBench manages the font files you already have. It does not sell, license or distribute fonts, and installing or activating a font through TypeBench does not grant any usage rights: every font remains governed by the license you obtained from its foundry or vendor. Checking that a given use is covered by that license remains your responsibility.
