What is free, and what is Pro?

The free tier is the whole library: indexing, family grouping, search, preview and collections, with up to three font families active at the same time. TypeBench Pro - a one-time $79.99 in-app purchase - removes the activation limit and unlocks the health tools (duplicates, validation, missing-fonts triage). One payment, every future update included.

Does TypeBench copy or move my fonts?

No. It indexes the folders you choose in place and builds its own index next to them. The app ships with a read-only file entitlement, so it cannot modify, move or delete a font file - even by accident. Reorganize a folder and the library follows.

I activated a family but an app doesn't show it.

Activation is system-wide through CoreText, and most apps pick it up immediately. Some refresh their font menu only when it is reopened, and a few older apps build the font list once at launch - reopen the menu or restart that app and the family will be there. Activation state survives restarting your Mac.

Does anything leave my Mac?

No. The app is sandboxed without a network entitlement - no accounts, no analytics, no uploads. Nothing can be transmitted even in principle.

A health tool flagged a duplicate or a corrupt file. Will TypeBench delete it?

Never. The health tools report and recommend; changing or removing files stays in your hands, in Finder. The read-only entitlement enforces this at the system level.

Which formats and macOS versions are supported?

OTF, TTF, TTC, OTC and variable fonts are indexed, previewed and activated; WOFF and WOFF2 are listed for reference. TypeBench requires macOS 14 or later and speaks English, Spanish, Russian and Ukrainian.
